Casita Marguerita is a cosy rural apartment, part of a traditional whitewashed house set in a hamlet. It is on ground level, has one bedroom with a double bed and an ensuite shower-room/loo. In the bedroom there is an electric wall-mounted panel heater, blanket and hot water bottles as well as a portable halogen heater for the cooler mornings and nights. The casita is naturally cool during the summer months if blinds are kept down, windows shut and shutters closed during the heat of the day. There is a standing electric fan for those really hot days. The kitchen is typically Andaluz with a 3-ring gas hob, an ovenette, a small fridge with an ice compartment, a toaster, kettle, an array of pots and pans, cutlery and crockery. The kitchen is freshly stocked with some basics like bottled water, milk, juice, bread, butter, jam and eggs for your arrival. Outside is an Andalucian vine-covered patio and a gravelled garden. There is private parking. Car hire is essential.

Set against a backdrop of rolling olive groves yet only 3 minutes away from the main road and 15 minutes' drive to the main motorway which connects to the rest of Andalucia. The cultural cities of Cordoba with its Mezquita, Granada and The Alhambra and Sierra Nevada, Sevilla and The Giralda, Alcala la Real in Jaen Province with La Mota Fortress, Malaga and the Costa del Sol are all within easy distances for day trips.

Malaga Airport is approximately 50mins' drive away and Granada/Jaen Airport 45minutes' journey from where we are. The apartment is just over a 120minutes´drive from Sevilla Airport.

The 4-star 18-hole golf course of Antequera are under an hour's reach. Whether you like skiing or not, spend a day on the slopes of the Sierra Nevada. The Sol y Nieve Resort with about 70 pistas for skiers of all levels hire out ski equipment.

There is a shop within walking distance for those emergency supplies. Main amenities and municipal pools can be found in the village of Tapia within a 5 minutes´drive south or in the village of Iznajar within a 10 minutes´drive north. Iznajar Lake and its Valdearenas Beach is within a 10 minutes´ journey from the apartment - pack a picnic or bring a book to spend a lazy day away from the hustle and bustle. Parking is anywhere you can find a space on the beach!!

Where the three provinces of Cordoba, Granada and Malaga meet, 10 minutes away from the beautiful Lake of Iznajar, just north of Malaga Airport, west of Granada/Jaen Airport and east of Sevilla Airport.

Come and experience the hospitality of the Andalucians which is well known and the cultural sites of Andalucia which are well documented. We are within easy distances for day trips to Cordoba, Granada, Malaga, Jaen, Cadiz and Sevilla.

If you are nature lovers, go for long walks in La Subbetica, the Poniente Granadiño or the Comarca Málaga and take your binoculars with you and watch and count the different species of birds. Pack a picnic and eat lunch sitting amongst the unique landscape of El Torcal. Spend a day in Granada City and imagine what life was like during the days of the Moors in La Alhambra. Absorb the heady scent of the orange blossoms in the Patios de los Naranjos of La Mezquita in Cordoba city. Meander the streets of the Old Jewish Quarters and treat yourselves to tea and sweets in one of the quaint teashops. Go and see the cavehouses in Guadix and make your way to a local market or "mercadilla" and see how the locals talk passionately about the quality of fruits and vegetables. Have tapas at a typical bar and mingle with the locals chatting noisily away and playing cards. Sit in one of the many cafeterias on the cliffs of Ronda and marvel at the commanding bridge while sipping your cafe con leche. Lose yourselves in the spectacle of the thousands of flamingos at the Laguna de Fuente de Piedra. Savour the delight of freshly fried churros dipped in sweet sticky hot chocolate for a breakfast date with the locals in a restaurant/bar. Wander around the streets of Sevilla City and feel the "duende" of the gypsies of bygone days in the air, and reward yourselves with watching a flamenco show. Be inspired by Washington Irving and follow his route or the Route of the Caliphs and compare the characteristics of the different white villages and baroque towns like Zuheros and Priego de Cordoba....all these and more to do in rural inland Andalucia.

And when you are exhausted from your outings, stay in with a glass of crianza in the patio under the vines with a good book or soak in some sun sitting out on the gravelled garden to rejuvenate yourselves before heading home. You will find yourselves thoroughly refreshed after your stay here and perhaps even planning the next trip back to this region!

To secure a booking we kindly ask for a 50 Euros booking deposit, the balance to be paid on arrival please in cash in Euros. Mininum Stay of 3 nights at 100 Euros irrespective of 1 or 2 persons occupying the property. FOR STAYS OF 2 WEEKS OR MORE, WE OFFER A REDUCTION ON SINGLE OCCUPANCY. Please note arrival checkin from 3pm and departure checkout by noon. La Marguerita is offered for holiday let from 1 March to 31 October of each year.
