The Aparthotel is of modern construction situated in the picturesque village of San Jose in Almeria. The Natural Park of Cabo de Gata is the first land-sea park of Andalucia. The Cabo de Gata Park is of volcanic origin, and it is the largest land-sea protected area of the Western Mediterranean sea. It is also of great ecological importance. These major geological changes have given rise to the Natural Marine Park of Cabo de Gata Nijar with distinct landscapes The Volcanic Sierra of Cabo and the Plaines of the Bahia of Almería both of exceptional geological value.

This latter one envelope a patrimony of incalculable didactic and scientific value: It exposes the literal history of the Mediterranean in the last 200.000 years, the evolution of the sea, its climate and it’s ecologic. At the mouth of the Rambla of the Amoladeras, for example, were one of the best registers of beach fossils in the western Mediterranean is conserved, and on the rocks and deposits of the coast its possible to see some excellent examples of dune formations, both fossils and actual.

The surface of the Natural Park is covered by a variety of vegetation formations perfectly adapted to the extreme climate conditions of its surroundings. The High temperatures and low rain index of the entire Iberia peninsula. Around a million different species find this naturally protected space the optimal conditions for there development.

“El palmito” the only indigenous palm in the European continent and the symbol of the park, grows on the threshold of the plains, forming forest. In its surroundings there are dense groups of the albaida, espanto rosemary and Basil. In the arid scenery of the Natural Park of Cabo de Gata – Nijar a rich and varied fauna is found.

The bird life that nests in the marshes, storks and the Chortilejo patinegro and thousands of bird life that in its migratory route between Europe and Africa, rest temporarily in the park. Anatidas and Lumínolas, cornelimos an archibebes use this area as their winter home. The Sierra has become the natural habitat of amphibian’s animals, mammals, reptiles, and bird life. The lizard, the viper hocicuda, the galapago leproso, the hedgehog perdicero, the fox, el tejon, la gineta.
