The Inn is situated in the highlands area of the Águeda River know as Las Arribes del Águeda, next to the Portuguese border. The name of the village, Ahigal de los Aceiteros, reminds us that we are in an olive oil producing region (the word "Aceiteros" means "oil merchants"). The surrounding area is one of sunny cultivation terraces mainly dedicated to olive trees.

Since time immemorial, the men and women of Ahigal have harvested their olives to produce oil in the presses. The carriers would then distribute the end produce around the local area by cart, as well as to towns and villages in the neighbouring provinces of Zamora and Valladolid. The vines and almond trees on the terraces, and the grazing land and cereal crops on the higher ground make up the remaining agricultural landscape of the village.
