When we saw the Inn the first time, we were struck by its impressive structure. Previously it functioned as a stable and a grass warehouse, a reflection of the main economical activity in the area. We didn’t hesitate; we decided this was the place we wanted to create our Inn. The building underwent a sympathetic refurbishment in 2000. We wanted to ensure that the Inn retained the rustic style typical of the Cantabrian coast of the XX century. We achieved this by retaining its original stone and wooden structure and complemented it with a contemporary interior design style that is continuously renovated and maintained. Enjoy the amazing living-room, with walls made of stone, a wooden sloping ceiling, feature fireplace and a picture window; from where, the very heart of Cantabria and the silhouette in the horizon of the Peaks of Europe can be seen. The Country Inn has twelve comfortable rooms. Impeccable decoration with the greatest attention to detail, warm colours, and the presence of wood, will ensure you enjoy a comfortable and tranquil stay with us. All the rooms have en-suite bathrooms and heating. You are able to relax while watching television, listening to music or surfing the internet, as all the rooms are fitted with piped music, television and wifi. The privileged location makes EntreComillas COUNTRY INN the perfect accommodation to carry out various cultural excursions and nature activities. The Inn is located only 3 km from the small fishing town of COMILLAS. Nowadays, this town stands out for its important “art nouveau” architecture. Enjoy an early morning walk to see Gaudi’s El Capricho -designed by the very architect- the impressive Pontificia University of Comillas and the Sobrellanos Palace, without any queues or crowds. 13 km to the west SANTILLANA DEL MAR can be found. This is regarded as one of the most beautiful towns of Spain, and it also houses THE CAVE OF ALTAMIRA. This is regarded as the “Sistine Chapel” of cave art and has been open to the public only recently. Cantabria has a very important geological value, THE CAVE OF SOPLAO is located 25 mins by car from the Inn. It has more than 30 km of galleries and is a unique world wide cavity for its quality and the quantity of the geological formations. This is all located in an area of outstanding natural. The NATURAL PARK OF OYANDRE that surrounds San Vincente de la Barquera is a perfect location participating in various activities including: kayaking, horse riding, gliding, hiking, quad routes, and four-wheel drive. Only 40 km from Santander and an hour and twenty minutes from Bilbao. (Bilbao is located to 140 km. This is the busiest airport in the north of Spain. And let´s not forget that Santander’s airport houses various European low cost companies). The Inn is located in the Liandres neighbourhood, in the area of Ruiloba. Even though there is easy access to the Inn, there is still a feeling of being in a rural area, bathed by the Cantabrian Sea. The Inn is 3 km away from the beach of Comillas. We suggest that you go for a 30 minute walk, while seeing, as impossible figures, challenging gravity, the quiet cows grazing by the cliffs.
