Townhouse in Marbella Details
Our beautiful holiday house by the beach is in a secure gated community with 2 heated pools - one suitable for children, the other with a deep end. It is built to the highest specification with all modern luxuries. For those long hot summer days if you prefer to cool off for a while, our downstairs covered patio has a great view of the mountains, a dining table, chairs and a large settee. There is air conditioning. We have furnished it with elegant comfort in mind. The balcony bedroom has twin beds. They can by special request, be made up as a seamless double bed.
The house's glory is its spacious roof terrace with breathtaking views of sea, mountains & the sunsets over Gibraltar and Morrocco. It's equipped with BBQ, sink, large comfortable sofa, chair & lounger bed, the dining table and 4 chairs may be shaded with the awning. The occasional table & chairs are under the thatched gazebo.If our elegant dining area is too much, just along the beach are 4 excellent restaurants. Next to Antonio Banderas' house is one of the best serving excellent Spanish and French cooking. Their Chateaubriand is exceptional. The Capabana beach resort (part of the 5 star Los Monteros hotel) serves legendary buffet lunches inside and out. The closest, La Mangelata serves superb seafood almost all day and evening and is very reasonably priced. Don't miss their dry or wet paellas. The world famous Silks by the sea is further along the beach. Further afield the range and quality of restaurants betters most cities. We have enjoyed Spanish traditional, including tapas bars, French, Argentinian, Italian, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, mixed oriental, Indian and fondue to name a few within a short drive. Eating in Spain is still relatively inexpensive.
In Marbella there are restaurants on the beaches, promenades and dotted around the beautiful old town and Orange Square.
Dozens of restaurants' details are in a folder in the house.The range of sporting activities is quite amazing. All types of watersports off the beach-try your hand at kite-surfing outside La Mangelata. There are 20 or so top class golf courses nearby, 3 within walking distance; a very good pitch and putt built into the hills at Elveria. Watch horse racing at Mijas championship or football vs Madrid at top flight Malaga.
Horse riding, quad biking, go karting, shooting, tennis, football training for the children, or just have a swim in one of the heated pools.
Outings include (rich) people watching at Puerto Banus with all the yachts. Puerto Banus is 10 minutes away by car is of course is the jet setters paradise and even dedicated shop-a-holics could not fail to be satisfied there; an English cinema and fabulous restaurants overlooking the yacht marina.
Gibraltar (50 mins), crossing the 8 miles from nearby Tarifa to Tangier Morrocco for the day (we can recommend an excellent guide), tour the Picasso museum in Malaga, Dolphin watch, mountain National parks football training, taking a skilift to the top of nearby mountains behind the beach, pop & classical concerts. Don't miss the world heritage sites: Alhambra Palace, Seville (and nearby Roman town of Italica), Cadiz and Trafalgar. Belo (beyond Tarifa) is another former Roman settlement is exceptionally complete and well preserved.
Retail therapy: Puerto Banus of course, La Canada (3 or 4 minutes by car) is one of the largest retail shopping malls in Europe and has most of the famous name clothes and other shops, a huge supermarket/department store as well as a cinema showing English films, a bowling alley, fitness centre and huge electrical store. The old town of Marbella (the same distance away) is a mixture of Mayfair and good quality Spanish shops selling Spanish goods especially shoes, clothing and jewellry at very reasonable prices. For the more adventurous you can pick up bargains from N Africa and Spain in the street markets up and down the immediate coast on different days. Up in the nearby (and un-missable) white villages of Andalucia the focus is on craft goods especially leather clothing.
In the house, kitchen and bathrooms are superbly equipped. The kitchen is Bosch: dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, oven, hob, fan, fridge, freezer, kettle' percolator, juicer and everything you'll need.
In the living area a 32" flatscreen UK sattelite TV, DVD/video and radio/CD.
The master en-suite marble bathroom has a Jacuzzi bath, detachable shower, large sink, bidet, toilet and large double walk-in shower. Of course the mirror and towel rail are heated and there is a heatray lamp in the ceiling.
The roof terrace has a BBQ, sink with hot and cold water. There is a dining table and 4 chairs which you may shade with a parasol. Under the thatched gazebo is an occasional table and chairs.
Between this and the bedroom is your fully equipped dressing room fitted with a concealed safe, and wardrobes and drawers (even trouser and shoe racks) behind sliding mirror doors.
The balcony bedroom's own dressing room and bathroom are similarly equipped but for the Jacuzzi and walk in shower. Notes to the rental rates:
these rates include linen, cleaning before and after your stay & all reasonable use of utilities. You will be met by our agent Adrian who will explain anything necessary and give you local guidance and any assistance you wish. A security deposit of E 250 is payable on booking and will be returned as soon as you have vacated, returned the key and a satisfactory inspection has taken place. The total charge is payable 8 weeks before the holiday. Full refunds will be made on cancellation (subject to a 100 euros administration fee) provided the property can be re-let for the period of your booking. Directions to this holiday townhouse in Marbella
Take the exit Altos de Marbella off the dual carriageway (careterra). Enter Bahia de Marbella through the Gaudiesque arch, accross both the fountain and lady sculpture roundabouts and Las Salinas is on the left.

EasyJet (who fly to our nearest airport Malaga from 9 UK [and 5 other European] airports) have unveiled a radar system to detect and avoid volcanic ash.
AVOID (Airborne Volcanic Object Identifier and Detector) provides infra-red images to pilots and flight control centres.The images will let pilots see an ash cloud up to 62 miles ahead of their aircraft and at altitudes between 5000ft and 50,000ft.
They can then adjust flight path to avoid the cloud.
In view of this, if you book Easyjet flights for this holiday and your flight is cancelled by Easyjet due to Volcanic ash, and you have taken out a travel insurance policy that covers this holiday (but the ash risk is not covered in it), we will refund your payment in full.
