The house sits on half an acre of hillside facing south east and has
marvellous views of the surrounding countryside and distant views of
the sea.
The natural park boundary lies just a few hundred metres away and the
house is an ideal base for walkers and naturalists.

The house is ideal for those who want a quiet and relaxing place to
stay and are happier with the simpler lifestyle. It is perfect for two
to four people.

Bedrooms
There are two bedrooms each with a fitted wardrobe and chest of
drawers. The double bedroom faces east and gets the early morning sun.
The twin bedded room faces north and is shady and cool.

Living room
The spacious living room has double wooden doors leading to the
terrace and has an open fireplace, dark wood dining table and six
chairs and a sofa bed.

Kitchen
Divided from the living room by a tiled breakfast bar is the kitchen
with double sink, cooker, fridge / freezer, toaster and water heater.

Bathroom
The bathroom is fully tiled and has a bath (short) with shower
attachment, bidet, hand basin and lavatory.

Terrace
The large arched terrace looks south / south east towards the sea and
has beautiful views.

General
The house is simple and beautiful. The floors are laid with terracotta
tiles and there are dark wooden beams on the high ceilings. There is
no television. There are books, games and a radio / CD player. There
are binoculars and books on birdwatching and the night sky.

The house is situated in the foothills of the Sierra Almijara just off
the mountain road which leads from Torrox to Competa, an enchanting
Andalusian “pueblo blanco” 2000’ above sea level. It is 3kms from
Competa and 15kms from the Mediterranean (30 minutes drive). The quiet
mountain road which leads to the house is known as the “Ruta del Vino”
and is a circular route of natural beauty which joins the villages of
Torrox, Competa, Sayalonga and Algarrobo to the coast road. There are
vines and raisin beds all along it as well as almond, olive and
avocado trees scattered over the hillsides.
There is a short rough track to drive down to reach the parking space
beside the house. A smaller car is easier to manoeuvre on the tracks
and on the mountain roads. There is some public transport to Competa
(buses twice a day to and from Malaga) and there are taxis available
from Competa and Torrox. However a car would be desirable to fully
enjoy the surrounding area. It takes about 30 minutes to walk to
Competa.

Approximately 1 hour 30 mins to Malaga airport, 30 mins to Torrox
Costa (nearest beach)and 40 mins to Nerja.
