This privately owned 2 bedroom Carabela apartment is located on the beach-front in Pto. Alcudia, which is just a 40 minutes drive from Palma airport. The property directly overlooks the marina and the beach of the beautiful Bay of Alcudia and local shops, cafes, restaurants and other amenities are just a stroll away. The fully air-conditioned apartment is on the third floor of a smal, mainly residential block, which offers secure parking, gardens and a good sized communal swimming pool. Pto. Alcudia is one of the most popular family destinations in Mallorca. Situated in the north-west of the island, Pto. Alcudia is about 55km from the capital of Palma; the location may be quiet but the lifestyle certainly isn't - and if all you're after is sun, a safe, sandy beach and constant entertainment for children, then this is the place for you. Mallorca is a great family choice because there are many daily departures from most UK airports and flight times are only around 2 hours. The apartment can be accessed by lift and comprises of entrance hall giving access to the fitted kitchen, which is equipped with cooker, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and other small domestic appliances. There is also a washing machine and iron/board. The hallway leads in to the air-conditioned living/dining area, with table and chairs for 4 people, and lounge area with sofas, Satellite TV & DVD facilities and access to the balcony with spectacular views to the marina and along the beach. The master, double bedroom opens onto the balcony and the second bedroom comprises of two single beds. Both bedrooms have air-conditioning and built-in wardrobes. There is a separate toilet and bathroom, which has a bath with shower. The apartment also benefits from a ‘drying’ area and a private roof terrace for sun-lovers which, as the apartment is south facing, enjoys the sun all day. This is in addition to the large sun terrace, which surrounds the communal swimming and children's pools. Bed linen and towels (not beach) are provided. Alcudia is one of the most popular areas on the Island, in or out of season. The beautiful bay of Alcudia has kilometres of extensive sandy beach providing safe bathing and all the usual beach activities, sailing, waterskiing, windsurfing, para-gliding, banana & glass-bottom boat rides and volleyball. Alcudia provides easy access to the western mountain ranges and the spectacular gorge at La Colobra, the town and port of Soller and Deia, made famous by the English poet Robert Graves, home to some of the rich and famous. For the bird and butterfly watchers, S'Albufera Natural Park is just 5 mins away and for the golfers, apart from the 9 hole course at nearby Pollensa, there is an 18 hole links course at Alcanada, also 5 mins away. There are more excellent uncrowded courses at Canyamel, Capdepera and Son Severa on the north-east coast all around 45 mins drive and 36 holes at Pula and Son Antem, the Marriott resort near Llucmayor. The Port, with its splendid Marina, is less lively than some parts of the resort although hotels and bars can provide plenty of entertainment. It is inundated with some very nice restaurants offering all kinds of Mediterranean Cuisine and typical Spanish/Mallorcean dishes, tapas (a must to try, specifically at Ramons and Ca'n Punyetes) to Chinese (Shangrila & Gran Chino) and Thai. Also, Don Vitos, the Carabela Steak House, BistroMar, on the Marina, and Bodega des Port, at the end of the Paseo Maritimo, are all good choices.
