The house sits in a quiet hamlet of about a dozen other dwellings, most of them Spanish owned. The house sits about one hundred metres back from the beach which is a two minutes walk or is accessible by car.
Behind the house are the foothills of the Sierra de Contraviesa and beyond them the high snow-capped mountains of the Sierra Nevada.

The valley of the Alpujarras and the mountains of the Sierras are renowned for walking, horse-riding and skiing.
Thirty miles along the coast is the marine nature reserve of Cabo de Gato. The house has been furnished so that it is a home away from home. The sitting area in the picture below leads directly from the kitchen and onto the lower terrace,which is a perfect place to breakfast and enjoy panoramic, uninterrupted views of the Mediterranean. The house is newly built and it has been tiled throughout in the Spanish style.
