Vilanova is a lively town with magnificent beaches, market and shops. Age-old festivals and traditions are celebrated throughout the year with something of interest for everyone. Historical buildings include a baroque bell tower, neoclassical mansion, the Museo Romantic, the Casa de la Vila and numerous other museums and galleries. Restaurants with international and local specialities, and both modern and traditional bars and clubs are open all year. The surrounding Park Natural area has magnificent walks, bird watching and a lake with fishing. The stunning Pyrenees mountains are only a 90 minute drive away. The superb market provides the famous seafood of the area. Vilanova prawns are a particular speciality along with the Iberian hams, local meats, wines, fresh olives, fruit and vegetables. A short drive to the edge of town is a picturesque 18 hole par 3 course with some challenging holes. Recently reformed, this walk up penthouse has magnificent views of the mountains, terracotta rooftops and the ancient floodlit bell tower from its large private roof terrace. The terrace is stylishly furnished with tropical plants and includes sun beds, an open air shower and gas BBQ for those hot summer days and nights! This apartment sleeps 5 people in 2 doubles (1 with aircon. and 1 with balcony)and 1 single bedroom (with balcony), 2 bathrooms (1 with shower and 1 with bath and overhead shower). Cot and high chair also available. FREE wifi A spacious lounge / dining area provides you with satellite flat screen TV (all main UK channels), DVD, music system, ipod dockng station, contemporary and intimate lighting. There is a large selection of CDs, DVDs, books and games. Large patio doors open onto a sunny balcony. A ceiling fan complements the cooling summer breeze. A large and very well equipped modern kitchen, balconies with tables and chairs off 2 of the bedrooms and the lounge for those early morning coffees in the sun. There is heating throughout for the winter months, air conditioning in the lounge and 1 double, and ceiling fans in the lounge and all the bedrooms for the summer months. This apartment is in the heart of the town very close to the main Rambla Principal and only a 15 minute stroll to the beach. Vilanova is 30 minutes from Barcelona airport and 40 minutes to Reus/Salou (Tarragona). Most budget airlines fly from regional and London airports. Car hire is good value if booked in advance. Alternatively, we can arrange airport transfers at an additional cost. By train. Vilanova is on the mainline route from both Barcelona and Tarragona. There is a frequent rail link from Barcelona airport via El Prat de Llobregat. An express bus also runs regularly from Barcelona airport. We would be happy to pick you up from the station in town. Vilanova is 6 minutes from Sitges by train. 'Black Sheep', our powerboat, is available to use (sea conditions allowing), for skiing, wakeboarding, banana and ringo rides, fishing or simply to anchor in a bay for a swim and a picnic. We provide all safety equipment and guests can participate as much or as little as they like in the whole exhilarating experience.
