Quite apart from the stunning views over Santander Bay, you’ll also be able to enjoy the exotic gardens, some fine examples of ancient ships, a small zoo featuring polar bears, and the magnificent Magdalena Palace. Built in 1912, this was the summer residence of King Alfonso XIII, whose patronage set the seal on Santander’s popularity as a holiday resort for the Spanish nobility.
