There is a sprawl of white houses, comparing dramatically with the brown sandstone of the castle and churches. If you want to get out of town there is a wealth of countryside to explore.

Nearby Grazalema National Park offers many beautiful walks. The beautiful cities of Cadiz and Seville and numerous beaches are all within easy reach. Arcos is a perfect base from which to explore this part of Spain. Arcos has numerous restaurants which are called "Ventas" with simple food and cheep menu's. There are a number of big supermarkets nearby (by car) eg. Carrefour, Mercadona and Lidl.
