The Village of Valldemossa is one of the most sought after areas in Mallorca. Lots of history within this small village, only 10 minutes drive to the Port of Valldemossa, walking, cycling and sightseeing or just relaxing in this beautiful village. Only 17km to Palma centre. Valldemossa is in a elevated location, looking down into the valley and surrounded by the Tramontana mountain range, filled with olive, almond trees and leafy vegetation. The narrow, lofty streets of Valldemossa offer a special enchantment. The native house of Saint Catherine is conserved in the town. The ancient monastery, Cartuja, originally a royal residence, was inhabited by the Carthusian monks from 1399 until their expulsion in 1835 due to the secularization of church property. During the winter of 1838-1839 Frederick Chopin and George Sand lived in this monastery, their stay is still well remembered today. Chopin once said 'this is the most beautiful place in the world!' the port is only a 10min drive away.
