These privately owned 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartments are located in the Lago Menor area of Pto. Alcudia, which is just a 40 minutes drive from Palma airport. Pto. Alcudia, with its fabulous award winning beach, is fast becoming one of the most popular family destinations in Mallorca.

Situated in the north-west of the island, Pto. Alcudia is about 55km from the capital of Palma; the location may be quiet but the lifestyle certainly isn't - and if all you're after is sun, a safe, sandy beach and constant entertainment for children, then this is the place for you.

Mallorca is a great family choice because there are many daily departures from most UK airports and flight times are only around 2 hours. These 3rd floor apartments are located on the small, mainly residential, Lake Placid complex (completed end of 2002) and have a secure entrance system and parking, nice gardens and a large swimming pool.

The accommodation can be accessed by lift, is fully air-conditioned and is very spacious. The large lounge/dining area has TV, DVD and Satellite facilities and leads to the south facing balcony. There is an open plan, fully fitted and equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer, hob/oven, dishwasher, microwave, other small domestic appliances and a utility room with washing machine and iron/board.

There is an en-suite to the master double bedroom, a separate shower-room and a further bedroom with twin beds or bunks. (A travel cot is available, if required). Each bedroom has a large built in wardrobe and bed linen and towels (not beach) are provided.

The apartments benefit from south facing balconies with sunbeds, table and chairs and unobstructed views across the lake to the mountains. Alcudia is fast becoming one of the most popular areas on the Island, in or out of season. The beautiful Bay of Alcudia has kilometres of extensive sandy beach providing safe bathing and all the usual beach activities, including sailing, water-skiing, wind-surfing, para-gliding, banana and glass-bottom boat rides and volleyball. Alcudia provides easy access to the western mountain ranges where you will find the spectacular gorge at La Colobra, the town and port of Soller and Deia, made famous by the English poet Robert Graves, now home to some of the rich and famous. For the bird and butterfly watchers, Albufera Natural Park is close-by and for the golfers, apart from the 9 hole course at nearby Pollensa, there is the new 18 hole links course at Alcanada, just 5 minutes away. There are more excellent uncrowded courses at Canyamel, Capdepera and Son Severa on the north-east coast all around 45 minutes drive and 36 holes at Pula and Son Antem, the new Marriott resort at Llucmayor. The Port, with its splendid Marina, is less lively than some parts of the resort although hotels and bars can provide plenty of entertainment. It is inundated with some very nice restaurants offering all kinds of Mediterranean Cuisine and typical Spanish/Mallorcean dishes, tapas (a must to try, specifically at Ramons, Ca'n Punyetes and Sa Forqueta) to Chinese (Shangrila & Gran Chino) and Thai. Also the Carabela Steak House and Bodega des Port on The Paseo are good choices.
