La Mazucar Apartment is situated in the peaceful village of Bacor. It is newly refurbished throughout and is very spacious with modern decoration and furniture and provides everything for a relaxing break.
Bacor is a small typically spanish village. The residents are friendly and make you very welcome. The village has 3 small grocery shops, fishmongers, butchers, bakers who deliver fresh bread to your door. There is also a doctors, small chemist, post office and a small market on Sundays. In the town hall there is free internet access, mon. - fri. 9.00am - 2.00pm. The village has a bar called ¨Bar Jesus¨ where you can sit on the terrace and enjoy a drink with superb views. The Bar serves free tapas (certain times of the day) and basic meals at fantastic value for money. The large South facing terrace is in sun all year round. It provides beautiful views of the mountains and dam. A large parasol is provided for those who like it a little cooler and also provided is a table with four chairs and a barbecue.

Just 20 minutes drive away you will find the troglodite Village of Purullena, so called foe its vast number of cave dwellings. The Village hosts a variety of shops selling locally produced pottery and also has a fantastic cave museum which is excellent value at only €2 per person. There are a number of Bars/Restaurants to enjoy a chilled drink or meal with fabulous views of the Sierra Nevada and local area.

Next to Purullena is the Historical Town of Guadix which has a cave and pottery museum, a vast amount of historical sights and many Shops, Bars and Restaurants. Guadix hosts a large traditional market on Saturdays. The Town of Baza is also a 20 minute drive away with plenty of Shops, Bars and Restaurants. Baza hosts a fabulous fiesta at the beginning of September with parades, fairs rides and many traditional spanish activities for you to enjoy. The Baza market is held on Wednesdays.

The Sierra de Baza national park is a 10 minute drive away with stunning views and walks. In the heart of the park is a restaurant with an activity centre for quad biking etc. The City of Granada is only one hour away and has a vast amount of shops, Bars/Restaurants and historical buildings and cathedrals. Other attractions are the famous Alhambra palace and gardens and the Sierra Nevada with skiing in the winter months.

The scenic village of Castril is also only a 20 minute drive, with its traditional cobbled streets and white washed houses it is a beautiful area for a chilled out visit with its own lake. Castril hosts many fiestas with its fantastic Bull fiesta in October. The surrounding area host many attractions for a relaxing and peaceful break with plenty of outdoor swimming pools with picnic areas and bars. There is also a man made beach in the nearby village of Cuevas del campo.

Also in the summer months you can hire pedaloes for as little as €5 per hour. There is an on-site Bar which serves drinks and ice creams and you can also sample one of the great value menu of the day meals for €7.50 per person, which consists of 3 courses, bread and wine.

Also further down the lake is a thermal spring pool with natural spring waters. It is set into a mountain that overlooks the lake and has a round restaurant above selling drinks, ice creams and meals.
