The Casa Bernabé is a large and generous modern house set in rural Axarquia, Andalucia, just a few minutes drive from the village of Riogordo. It includes a self-contained apartment and may either be rented in its entirety or without the apartment (however, the apartment is not available for rental on its own so if you rent the house you will never have strangers sharing the property with you). The main house sleeps 10 people in five bedrooms, two of them with large double beds and the others with twin beds. One of the upstairs bedrooms includes a sun-terrace. The apartment then adds a further bedroom with one double bed and one single bed. In total, up to 13 can sleep in the property – plus one extra (ie 14) in a spare put-you-up bed if required. The apartment has its own independent entrance but is arranged in such a way that it can be opened up to the main house forming a single complete unit. PLEASE NOTE THAT PRICES GIVEN ARE FOR THE HOUSE ONLY - SEE PRICING PARAGRAPH FOR DETAILS. There are 3 bathrooms in the main house, all with showers and one with bath. There is also a separate steam-room with hydro-massage. The apartment also has its own bathroom with shower.

There are two fully-equipped and well-appointed kitchens, one in the apartment, each opening onto their own sitting room. The main kitchen has cooking hobs which can be used either with electricity or gas. It also has a microwave and fridge freezer. The apartment kitchen also has gas/electric hob and fridge freezer. The washing machine is outside in a utility room on the terrace. The entire house benefits from air conditioning which also functions as heating in the winter. Each of the two sitting rooms has a wood-burning fireplace. The main sitting room has television, dvd, and music system with cd and radio. There are also televisions in the main bedroom and the apartment sitting room. All the rooms are generously proportioned and the house gives a feeling of spaciousness and calm. The swimming pool is 14 x 5 metres with a Jacuzzi and the depth ranges from 1.0 metre to 1.8 metres. The water purification uses salt and is much healthier for the skin than chlorine. There is an outdoor shower by the pool and a washroom and toilet. On the enormous terraces there is a sheltered barbecue area which includes a fridge/freezer and sink with running water. There are two further outdoor dining areas. Situated on the slopes of Magiaza, the views are impressive, with the majestic sierras to the north and the large mountain of Maroma in the Sierra Tejada to the east. The white village of Riogordo is 5 minutes drive and offers a good range of shops for most needs. Further afield is Malaga (35 minutes), Velez-Malaga (30 minutes), Torre Del Mar (35 minutes) and Nerja (50 minutes) for beaches, and Granada (70 minutes). Bedding, towels and swimming towels are all provided, all of which are laundered weekly. Changeover day is Saturday. All arrivals are met in the village and shown up to and around the house (in English, Spanish, German or French).
