Tomiňo sits under the shelter of several mountains and is located in the heart of the Miňo valley, a borderland of Spain with Portugal. Visitors will enjoy a picturesque, shining and typical ‘miňoto’ (named after the Miňo river) landscape. You will experience the charm of the country side, not only of the inner parishes but also those whose panoramic view turn towards Portugal. The land is watered by several trout rivers that flow to the Miňo. They are of recognized importance, as far as fish farming and angling is concerned. The tributaries of the Miňo are famed for their trout fishing.
The river is an incomparable backdrop to all types of water sport, such as canoeing and waterskiing. Small pleasure boats also cruise the Miňo during the summer allowing another aspect to this geographical panorama.
