Cueva del Dragon has three large double bedrooms, two with shared facilities and one en-suite. Each room is tastefully furnished and has it's own key for your security. There is a parking area at the front of the cave. Cave rooms are naturally cool in summer and warm in winter. A full breakfast is included in the price and other meals are available on request. There are many cafes and bars in the village and surrounding areas, providing good food at very reasonable prices The Village

Set in the foothills of Sierra Cazorla and Sierra Baza the ancient village has two distinct areas; the Moorish hill caves and the more modern Christian district. Accommodation is varied reflecting the two distinct areas, with the cave houses becoming ever more popular. Set in the Barrio Santissimo cave area, has a welcoming atmosphere and breathtaking views encompassing arid valleys and verdant mountains. The cool ambient temperature of the cave is a welcome break from the midday sun of Andalucía giving you the opportunity to relax. Galera is a sleepy rural village which was founded around 3500 years ago and is now mainly a farming community. Galera museum gives an insight into the local history. Prehistoric finds from the region include statues dating as far back as 4000BC and the Iberian Necropolis. In the nearby village of Orce remains of askull which is still undergoing dating may place the region as the birthplace of European human life. The locals are friendly and welcoming to all and love to chat. Friends can easily be made in any of the bars, each offering free tapas. All of the local cafes and restaurants are very reasonably priced. There are plenty of shops in the village from which you can purchase all your necessary provisions
and there is also a weekly market. There are other nearby village markets with at least one open somewhere every day. Nearby Baza has excellent shopping and historical interest. There are many swimming pools in the local area including one fed from a natural hot spring!
Galera is an ideal base for exploring the local Sierras where the outdoor activities offered include walking, quad biking, horse trekking, rock climbing and water sports on nearby Lake Negratin.
The quaint traditional villages of the area offer the "Real Spain" and a "laid back" attitude. The Sierra Nevada, only 1.5 hours away has year round snow, stunning views and walks. Winter sports dominate from November to March. The coast is only an hours drive away through some spectacular terrain. The scenery en-route to Almeria and the Cabo De Gata National Park are particularly outstanding. Mojacar has the "English abroad" life-style whereas Aguilas is a typically Spanish resort.
The breathtaking cities of Granada and Cordoba are also within easy reach. Granada is the home to the World Heritage site of the Moors' masterpiece, the Alhambra Palace and also Reyes Catholicos architecture.
Cordoba, a beautiful Moorish city, is home to the Mezquita Mosque-Cathedral, the Royal Palace and the Juderia. Also with reach there is Jaen for grass weaving, Purellena for pottery, Guadix for museums and Murcia (gateway to the Costa Calida).
