The apartment is situated in the the traditional Andalusian village of Bacor in Granada province. It is a 10-minute drive, or 40-minute walk, from the beautiful Lake Negratin where you can enjoy water sports or just admire the fantastic views over a glass of wine with tapas, or a great meal at one of the delightful restaurants. Bacor offers a chance to experience a different culture in beautiful surroundings. It is ideal for those who enjoy a walking holiday or like to visit interesting and historic places, or simply to "chill out" in the sunshine. Granada's famous Alhambra Palace is only an hour's drive and is an unmissable experience. The Sierra Nevada offers skiing and other winter sports and is within easy driving distance. The apartment has 3 double bedrooms and a large fully-fitted kitchen and bathroom. It is newly-decorated and furnished and has a small outside terrace with table, chairs and sun parasol and access to a large (30sq.m.) roof terrace with barbecue, where you can watch the sun go down behind the mountains while enjoying a glass or two of Spanish wine.
The village has few shops but those it has will cater for most of your needs. There are three general stores, a butcher, and a baker from whom you can buy fresh, warm croissants for breakfast. There is also a small market on Sunday mornings. The apartment will easily accomodate 6 people and there is a bed settee if more sleeping space is required. We also cater for babies and children and have a cot, highchair and pushchair if you need them. We provide a baby-sitting service using a former teacher, police-checked in the U.K.
There are 2 adult bikes and walking poles available for guests' use, as well as a large selection of books, videos, D.V.D.s and children's toys and games.
English Language tuition is available, as an extra, for those for whom English is not their first language but who would like to improve their communication skills. This is taught by a qualified and experienced English teacher. (B.A.(Hons) Cert. Ed. CELTA) Don't weigh yourself down with luggage and pay extra for your flight. We provide almost everything you could need to make the most of your stay. Beach towels, bath robes, hair dryer and straighteners, and also a welcome basket containing coffee, tea,bread, milk, fruit and, of course, a bottle of Spanish wine.
If you do not wish to hire a car, we can pick you up and return you to the airport in our 6-seater vehicle for a small extra charge. We are also available for excursions if required. The area around Bacor is mountainous and there is a variety of plant and wild life to see. There are many places to walk, over all types of terrain. We can provide you with a map detailing these, or you can just wander where the fancy takes you. Take a packed lunch, (fitted rucksack provided) and make a day of it. The nearest large town is Baza (20-minute's drive). It boasts a museum, cathedral, a wide range of shops including several supermarkets, and a thriving outdoor market every Wednesday.
Ther are many fiestas throughout the year as the Spanish love to party and are only too happy to involve everybody else in their entertainments. Spend an evening in Baza, or in Granada. Linger at one of the many pavement cafes or restaurants and watch the world go by, but take care; you may find that this is the beginning of a love affair with Spain that will bring you back time and time again.
