Amenities : The white village of Torrox ( 8.5km ) is a rustic Andalucian village which has a wide selection of local restaurants, supermarkets, shops & bars. Nerja ( 18km ) with its beautiful beaches, bars, restaurants, nightlife & the world famous caves & the shopping centres of Torre del Mar & Velez Malaga are all within easy driving distance. The historic cities of Granada, Cordoba & Seville are all within easy reach & skiing in the Sierra Nevada's is a 2 hour drive Golf : Velez Malaga ( 20km )

Beaches : Torrox Costa ( 11km ) with an abundance of bars & restaurants & nightclubs. A variety of beaches & coves can be found all along the Costa del Sol & the Costa Tropical

Torrox:

The whitewashed village of Torrox is steeped in history with remains dating back to roman times. It has all amenities, with a pretty square dotted with bars & restaurants. It is said to have ‘the best climate in Europe’ with sea views & protection from the cold winds by the Tejeda & Almijara mountains. Torrox Costa has wide sandy beaches with a number of Chiringuitos & restaurants overlooking the beach. Competa:

Around this village the hill slopes are blanketed with vineyards & drying racks for the grapes making the sweet wines for which the area is well known. There is a great wine festival in August which takes place in the main square of Competa.
There is a lovely main square which is overlooked by the bell tower of the Iglesias de la Asuncion, which has a number of bars serving tapas & good value meals.
The local tourist office is situated near the main square on Calle Rampa.
The countryside around Competa is a mecca of walking & local walking maps can be obtained from the tourist office.

Frigliana:

Frigliana is steeped in Muslim history. You can learn the history of the town & area, by walking through the streets where ceramic plates record the events on the houses in the older part of the town. Frigliana is a pretty whitewashed town with narrow winding streets festooned with hanging plants & colourful flowers.
