Luxemburgo is a small complex of 18 houses. The house is spacious with 3 air-conditioned bedrooms, one double and two twin bedded. There are 3 bathrooms, a large living/dining room, a well-equipped kitchen, and two upper balconies each with table and chairs and sea views, a rear courtyard and front patio, barbecue and garden. Both have tables and chairs. There is an attractive, secluded communal pool and gardens.

Luxemburgo is very popular with holidaymakers because it is in its own cul-de-sac, close to the sea (100 yards) and local restaurants and bars.

The area is well established and regarded as the best area in Mojacar. The location boasts the best beaches and an attractive 'Paseo Maritimo'. The area behind is mountainous and looks particularly attractive when viewed from the beach. The house has satellite TV, DVD Recorder/Player with all free to air UK channels and each room is equipped with large fans. You can have a wonderful holiday in Mojacar Playa without needing to use a car. Sea, sand and sun are almost literally on your doorstep. There are numerous restaurants and bars of all types close by which are open all year round.

Adjacent to the beach there are many beach bars. These and the clubs are open between Easter and October. For relaxation, safety and warmth there are few places to rival it at any time of year.

The name comes from the time when the Greeks occupied the area and it means 'White Heights'. Mojacar Pueblo (village) is set back from the sea and can be seen for miles because it still is high and covered in white houses. It is the town where Walt Disney’s mother came from and where he was conceived. The symbol for Almeria is the Indalo man which looks like a person holding a rainbow. It has been regarded by the population of the Pueblo as a symbol of protection against storms and the elements. Indalo man was brought to Mojacar by the population that migrated here from 4000 year old cave paintings further inland. It is now the symbol for the province of Almeria as a whole. You will see him everywhere. He is on lorries, cars, plates, jewellery and even beach towels. The biggest one is on the roundabout as you leave Almeria airport.

This area of Spain has the driest and warmest climate in Europe. It is one of the last of the coastal areas to be developed. The local authority of Mojacar have ensured that the character of the Playa area is protected so that it not spoiled by high rise development. Along the playa it is very unusual to see houses of more than one or two stories high. Even the Parador is low rise. There are one or two hotels that have been allowed to build higher but that was in the past. It is one of the reasons that many British have chosen this area to retire to. The area surrounding is desert (beautiful flowers in the mountains in winter). There are now about 5 golf courses in the area and the new ones are of a very high standard. There is one old one in the Cabreras where no-one uses orange golf balls because you might lose them amongst the real oranges that have fallen to the ground.

The mountains at the immediate rear of the Playa are knowns as the Sierra Cabreras. Cabreras is Spanish for goat and there are a number of local herds, which can cause motorists to wait while they pour over the roads.

The coastline is very attractive and for those that choose to rent a car there are lots of places in-land and along the coast to go. There is a superb Water Park at Vera Playa as well as the Playa Nudista for those that have forgotten their swimming costumes. The drive to Carboneras and beyond to the west is particularly beautiful with its unning coastal views and a delightful beach and eating place at Agua Marga.
